While World of Concrete shows the range of construction innovation and is MASSIVE, the International Roofing Expo (IRE) felt more intimate, and I felt it was more focused on contractor and vendor usability. IRE gathers manufacturers, contractors, distributors, and solution providers who work in roofing every day. The event is practical, direct, and closely tied to real jobsite experiences across North America.
The Incentive Insights team attended IRE this year because roofing is one of the most advanced, contractor-driven markets in construction. Loyalty is important. Training is important. Product trust is important. More and more, manufacturers are seeking better ways to support, reward, and retain the contractors who choose and install their systems.

As we walked the floor, a few companies stood out not only for their booths but also for their clear understanding of where the industry is headed. These brands are moving roofing forward with new materials, better systems, and a focus on contractors.
But frist for those who have no idea what IRE is.
What Is the International Roofing Expo (IRE)
The International Roofing Expo is the largest roofing and exterior-focused trade show in North America. It brings together every corner of the roofing ecosystem: residential and commercial roofing manufacturers, coatings specialists, ventilation experts, equipment providers, and technology platforms.
IRE stands out for focusing on contractors. This is a hands-on event. Professionals who actually install the products judge them quickly and honestly. If a system saves time, works better, or reduces callbacks, people notice. If not, it is overlooked.

Why were we even there?
Well, IRE is important to Incentive Insights because it shows that standing out in roofing is about more than just the product. Manufacturers now compete based on how well they support contractors over time. Training, certification, and loyalty programs are now key parts of their strategy.
This is where Incentive Insights comes in. We have created a flexible loyalty and rebate management system that roofing manufacturers can use to reward purchases and build long-term brand loyalty. IRE shows that the manufacturers who succeed in the future will be those who invest in contractor relationships now.
Below is my list of companies and manufacturers worth talking about from the IRE International Roofing Expo.
Malarkey Roofing Products
Malarkey continues to set the standard for performance-focused asphalt roofing. Their residential roofing systems are built with a strong focus on durability, sustainability, and real protection against harsher weather.
At IRE, Malarkey stood out for how confidently they present their technology. Their use of polymer-modified asphalt and advanced granule adhesion is shown as a real improvement in impact resistance, granule retention, and long-term roof performance, not just marketing.

Malarkey also values the contractor’s role. Their products are made to be installed the same way by different crews and to lower the risk of early failure. This reliability protects both the contractor’s reputation and the homeowner’s investment.
In the industry, Malarkey is changing what people expect from asphalt shingles. They show that innovation does not mean leaving behind familiar materials. Instead, it means making them better in smart ways.
INLAND Coatings
INLAND Coatings impressed with its strong focus on high-performance roof coatings. Their AldoCoat 400S premium acrylic coating aligns with a broader industry shift toward restoration, energy efficiency, and longer roof life rather than full replacement.
INLAND stands out for its consistency. Their coatings are designed to perform reliably across different climates, various surfaces, and many conditions. This reliability is important for contractors who need to meet warranty standards and keep to tight schedules.

At IRE, it was clear that INLAND sees coatings as a key roofing solution, not just a temporary fix. By focusing on reflectivity, weather resistance, and long-term protection, they help building owners reconsider how they plan maintenance and budgets.
INLAND leads by making coatings a main part of modern roofing, not just a specialty option.
Gonano
Gonano is one of the most forward-thinking technologies at the show. Their nano-based surface treatments are made to improve durability, water resistance, and lifespan at the smallest scale.
What stood out was not only the science but also the practicality. Gonano’s products fit into current roofing and exterior systems without forcing contractors to change how they work. This easy adoption is key for new technology to catch on.

In the industry, Gonano points to a future where protection is improved in ways you cannot see, using chemistry instead of adding thickness or weight. This affects not only roofing but all exterior surfaces.
Gonano leads by showing that advanced material science can be used without making things more complicated.
Variobend
Variobend introduced a clear European style to metal forming and edge detailing that stood out right away. Their bending systems are built for accuracy, consistency, and a clean look.
In roofing, finishing details often set apart average work from great work. Variobend gives contractors a way to deliver consistent, professional results on every project.
I was most impressed by how Variobend balances automation and control. Contractors become more efficient but still keep the flexibility they need on site. This balance is important in roofing, since every project is different. You can see this in the video below of the V 2.5 in action.
Worthhouse
Worthhouse stood out for its focus on sustainable, design-focused building materials. Their approach combines strong performance with good looks, meeting new expectations from architects, owners, and developers.
At IRE, Worthhouse showed how roofing and exterior materials can help meet bigger sustainability goals without giving up durability or ease of construction.
From this video, I shot footage of how well the water ran off the product, which, in wet and storm-exposed areas of the country, is a huge deal.
Berridge Manufacturing: Bermuda Panel System
Berridge’s Bermuda Panel system represents thoughtful innovation in metal roofing design. The system is engineered to deliver clean lines, weather resistance, and installation efficiency.
What stood out was the Bermuda Panel’s balance and how it functions. It gives a unique appearance while still meeting the strength and performance needs of today’s roofing projects.
It was explained to us that for contractors, systems like this lower installation risks and give clients more design choices.

Berridge leads by improving metal roofing systems to work as complete solutions, not just as separate parts.
Quarrix: StormStop® Ridge Vent
Quarrix’s StormStop® ridge vent exemplifies how targeted innovation can solve a big problem. Good ventilation is key to roof performance, but ridge vents are often a weak spot in bad weather, while enhancing resistance to wind-driven rain and storm intrusion. That dual focus on performance and protection is exactly what the market is demanding.
At the Quarrix booth, it was obvious that they lead by focusing on the details that decide long-term roof health. You can see from this video that the StormStop® ridge vent really works!
Final Takeaway
IRE highlighted a key trend in construction: the best manufacturers think beyond just the product. They look at how systems are installed, how contractors succeed, and how buildings perform for years to come.
At Incentive Insights, we watch these companies because product innovation often goes hand in hand with contractor engagement. Roofing relies on loyalty, and the brands that build strong relationships with contractors will lead the future.
